healthfinderTM
(Department of Health
and Human Services)

healthfinderTM is a gateway consumer health information web site from the United States government. It is designed for the general public, patients, and caregivers. The site includes information to help people stay healthy, understand diagnoses, explore treatment options, and find support.  It also provides well-organized information about identifying and selecting quality health care, from health plans and providers to long-term care; and about identifying sound health information on the Internet.  It features both full text and key word searching in a clear, easy-to-use design.  Links to online journals, libraries, and medical dictionaries are accessible from the hompage.  Its 3,500 resources cover over 1,000 topics.  In response to increasing use by health professionals, a new section is being introduced that brings together key resources for health and medical staff.   AMIA attendees are encouraged to visit the site, peruse the "Just for You--Professionals" section, and give us feedback.

healthfinder won the following award in the Games:

Washington, DC (April 28, 1998):

  • 1st Place, Popular Vote Award
