The Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) Citation Index (CCI) is a database that comprises bibliographic records describing much of the CAM research that has been published over the last 35 years. The CCI has a menu driven interface, which allows the user to choose among various diseases or conditions, alternative medicine techniques or systems, and types of literature. This interface allows users to find articles of interest without necessarily knowing medical terminology. The CCI also has a standard search interface, which allows more sophisticated users to exploit subject expertise when searching for complementary and alternative medicine literature. Consequently, its audience is a wide spectrum of users, from the general public to medical practitioners and researchers. The CCI was designed and developed by the IIT Research Institute (IITRI) for the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The CCI resides on an Oracle8 database server running on a Sun SparcStation. It is available on the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine Web page at http://altmed.od.nih.gov/nccam/. The Technology Games will begin at 6:30
